Pride Month RSVP

The California Legislature observes the month of June as LGBTQ Pride Month. Traditionally, the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus invites honorees from around the state to a daylong celebration, including a special floor ceremony during the California State Assembly and Senate floor session. During the ceremony the honorees are presented with a resolution in commemoration of their accomplishments and contributions to the LGBTQ community. Due to COVID-19 a physical celebration will not happen this year. Nevertheless, the Caucus would like to commemorate Pride 2020 with a virtual twist.

California’s Legislative LGBTQ Caucus was formed in 2002 to create a forum for California Legislators to discuss issues that affect LGBTQ Californians and to further the goal of equality and justice for all Californians. California was the first state in the country to form an official caucus of openly-LGBTQ state legislators. An LGBTQ Caucus priority is advocating for diversity and inclusion of all people, especially our most marginalized populations. We believe honoring and highlighting LGBTQ leaders and our allies is a key factor in furthering our goals of inclusion and equality, as well as serving as role models for our youth.

Please join us on June 22, 2020 from 6:00PM-7:00PM for our Pride 2020 Virtual Honoree Celebration to highlight those within our community who also help further these goals, and give us the chance to express our thanks and gratitude to the pioneers, vanguards, and trailblazers of our historic movement.

Please register by June 19th to receive a Zoom link to attend this special event celebrating this year’s honorees.
