Major Veronica Zerrer

California Veterans Board & Army Officer (Ret.)

Major Veronica Zerrer retired from the US Army in 1998, after twenty-two years of active and reserve service. She has served in various US and overseas assignments as a Cavalry Scout, Scout Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Company Commander, and staff assignments at the battalion, brigade, and division levels with the Army’s 1st and 35th Infantry Divisions. She is a graduate of the US Army’s Armor Officer Advanced Course, and the Combined Arms Staff Services School at Ft. Leavenworth’s Command and General Staff College. In her civilian career she managed a homeless shelter, a home maintenance program that kept seniors in their own homes, and was a Development Director for the LGBT Center of Orange County California. She was the Tribal Grant Writer for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation in Kansas. She currently sits on the California Veterans Board and is a Council Member of the San Diego LGBT Center’s Veterans Wall of Honor Advisory Council, a program honoring the military service of local LGBT citizens.
