Luis Vasquez
Luis Vasquez is a community builder, youth champion, and proud Navy veteran who leads with heart, purpose, and a deep belief in possibility. A Salvadoran-American from East Los Angeles, now rooted in South Los Angeles, Luis brings many years of experience in nonprofit leadership, public service, and youth development across Southern California.
As a Commissioner for the Los Angeles County LGBTQ+ Commission and Co-Founder of Rainbow Labs, Luis is committed to advancing equity, visibility, and opportunity for LGBTQ+ communities—especially inner-city and marginalized youth. He is passionate about creating spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. Luis believes that when youth are surrounded by trusting relationships and critical supports that honor their natural gifts and curiosities, there is no limit to what they can achieve.
At Rainbow Labs, Luis helps drive a bold vision by building a network of champions dedicated to accelerating opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth. He brings thoughtful leadership and lived experience into every space he enters—from boardrooms to community circles—grounded in service, fueled by culture, and guided by the belief that every young person deserves the chance to reach their greatest potential.
Luis is a valued voice in shaping policy and advancing meaningful dialogue. He is known for offering thoughtful insight, informed by his experience as a military veteran and his deep expertise in supporting LGBTQ+ youth—always bringing a sense of rhythm, resilience, and realness to the work.
