California Legislative Diversity Caucus Condemn Attacks Against Israeli Citizens

Sacramento – The California Asian American and Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus, California Legislative Black Caucus, California Latino Legislative Caucus, California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus, California Native American Legislative Caucus, and the California Women’s Caucus stand in solidarity with the California Legislative Jewish Caucus in condemning the shocking and terrible assault by Hamas on the people of Israel this morning.
On Simchat Torah, a major Jewish holiday, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel in an unprecedented attack, reportedly killing 250, wounding more than 1,500 Israeli civilians, and taking many others hostage. On the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, this is the deadliest act of violence in Israel since.
All people deserve to live in a world free of violence and oppression. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the escalating violence and call for an immediate end to the invasion and rocket fire by Hamas. We urge the immediate safe return of all hostages.
The California Legislative Diversity Caucus stands in solidarity with the people of Israel and the Jewish community. Our love and condolences are with the families and friends of the victims of the terrible violence. There is no doubt this assault will embolden anti-Semitic violence throughout the globe; we must rise above it. We are committed to continue calling attention to and fighting against anti-Semitism at home and abroad.
